Being a woman in my 40’s I could not believe how being perimenopausal had taken over my life and not for the better! My sleep was poor, and as a result I was making the wrong food choices. I was gaining weight, and the brain fog was horrible. I even had tendonitis in my hips as a result from all the excess weight I had gained. I did not feel like myself and felt really ashamed of how I let myself go. It even effected my mental health. My anxiety was at an all-time high and I lacked so much confidence. I had spoken to my GP about how I felt and that I wanted to lose weight, and their lack of response was not helpful. That is when I knew I had to do something for myself. I was really nervous about my consultation, but as soon as I sat down with the two Steve’s (!!!) they really put all my worries to rest. They were both so kind and friendly. I thought they might just blame me for looking or feeling the way I did, but it was the complete opposite! They reassured me that they can and want to help me. They even advised me of my very first change then and there….drink more water! I left the consultation feeling really upbeat and optimistic. Something I have not felt in a long time! My first session is when I met with my trainer Laurence, and he was so friendly, supportive, and just overall wonderful. First session was a consultation where we spoke about everything – why I wanted to do this, what I want out of it, my eating habits, sleeping habits, how much water do I drink (they really make sure that you are drinking your water at U.P.!) etc. there wasn’t one stone left unturned when it came to my health. During the same initial session were my ‘before’ photos. I was dreading this! But I actually felt at ease. Laurence was super professional, patient and a really great listener. I was super impressed with how invested he was in ensuing that my consultation was specifically for me. There was no standard/general advice. This is an investment in me and therefore, everything is tailored to me. By time I had my second session I was ready to go and excited! But in between, Laurence was in touch with me daily to see how I was feeling and making sure that I was ready for our first training session. I really liked this as it kept me super excited for the changes and hard work ahead – I cannot lie, it is not easy. It is tough especially when you are used to years of poor health choices! But he really kept my motivation levels high and that reassured me that joining U.P. was the best decision ever made! Fast forward 10 months later, and I cannot thank Laurence enough for what he has done for me! Besides the physical changes (30kg fat loss!) all the other issues I was dealing with are long gone! No more hip pain! My mental health is doing so much better. The UP app has to be used to keep a record of your diet and weight and my PT had access to this yo keep track of my performance and would check it regularly to ensure I was accountable. During your first session, your trainer will run through a 90-minute consultation, which involves a body composition assessment, followed by a gym-floor movement screening.

How frequently you train completely depends on your lifestyle, budget and preferences. However, most of our clients train three to four times per week, allowing us to maximise progression with effective recovery.
Yes, your Personal Trainer will build you a bespoke nutrition and supplement plan that considers your lifestyle, goal, and preferences, designed to provide the maximum return on your investment. The three hours you spend with your trainer is only a small part of the story. The remaining 165 hours in the week are just as important, and your nutrition is a fundamental pillar of your results.
Your trainer will work with you to develop calorie and macronutrient goals specifically tailored to your body composition and goal. We place a high emphasis on the importance of high-quality, nutrient-dense foods, such as lean meats, lots of green fibrous vegetables and healthy fats, like nuts, avocado or olive oil. Not only does this approach maximise the health benefits of your transformation, but it also ensures you are satiated, energised and ready to take on any new challenges.
Your trainer will also provide ongoing support to make the personal training plan work for you. This may include problem-solving to help you plan for social events and travel, or using our meal prep partners, The Good Prep.
